Adoption Process
If you have gotten to this page, we assume you have taken the Weim Test? CAREFULLY researched the breed, and know that this is the breed for you. If not, please take the time to do so. You will be asked questions about Weimaraners in general to ensure you are the right home for them!
The first step in the process is to complete an adoption application. Completing the application DOES NOT imply that you will get a rescue dog from us. It is the first step in many to getting a rescue weimaraner.
We DO allow Out-Of-State Adoptions, however, you must come to where ever the dog is fostered to complete the adoption process You must also be willing to sign a contract that, if for any reason, the adoption does not work out that YOU will return the dog to its original place of adoption at YOUR EXPENSE.
Heartland Weim Rescue operates totally on donations and volunteers. We do ask for an Adoption Donation for every dog placed. The donation is set on the age, health, and vet bills we have incurred in the dogs. Puppy donations are usually $300, Adult Weims are $250, Senior and Health Issue, or Special Need Weims are $100 to $150.
